Checking Accounts

Avoid the embarrassment and cost of bounced checks. If your Checking Account balance falls too low to cover a withdrawal, a debit card transaction, or a check, we will automatically transfer funds from your Savings Account to make the payment. You have three free transactions with Overdraft Protection, and the credit union will automatically make the transfer provided the funds are available in the Savings Account.

CHECKING COURTESY PAY
We offer a discretionary Checking Courtesy Pay program available to our valued members. If an overdraft occurs on your Checking Account, we will consider paying the check, ACH transactions and recurring Debit Card purchases up to the Courtesy Pay limit of $400 and charge you the same fee ($35.00) that we would charge to return it to the merchant. This program saves you the additional merchant fees and hassles of managing a returned check. You will be sent a notice of non-sufficient funds and will be required to bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days. We encourage all of our members to manage their finances responsibly, but if you need it, your credit union is here with Checking Courtesy Pay. 

ATM/DEBIT CARD COURTESY OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE
In order to enjoy the same overdraft coverage when you use the ATM and one-time Debit card transactions you must opt-in for this valuable service.

By choosing to opt-in, you can have comfort in knowing that you could have a safety net to protect you in case of an error in your checkbook or temporary cash shortage. By opting in, we may continue to approve and pay your ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases up to your overdraft limit of $400.00. This could save you the embarrassment of having your debit card declined at the grocery store, restaurant, etc. We will charge our standard Non Sufficient Fund (NSF) fee of $35, but your purchase or cash withdrawal will be approved.

The Alliance One network of financial institutions offers over 4,500 ATM machines in 41 states and territories where you can use your Unity Catholic FCU ATM Card or Debit Mastercard. The owners of these ATMs do not assess a foreign ATM charge (the fee to process a transaction for someone who is not one of their account holders). Plus you can visit any Money Pass ATM or use a surcharge-free ATM at one of our offices at your convenience.

Bill Pay is a service offered to members though home banking and Unity Catholic’s mobile app. Fees: Waived for the first three months, then $3.00 per month if no activity is performed in that given month. Federally Insured by NCUA.

Save time and money by setting up automatic deposits and payments with Direct Deposit or Payroll Deduction. You’ll have access to your money faster and without the need to visit the credit union. Deposit all or a portion of your payroll or government check; even spread your deposit across multiple accounts or loans at Unity Catholic FCU. Contact your employer to set up direct deposit.
