Card Upgrade
We are excited to announce that Unity Catholic FCU is enhancing our credit card program to provide you with a more secure and rewarding experience! This upcoming transition includes a new card processor, an updated network, and a fresh new look for your card. While your current card will remain active through April 10, 2026, you will soon receive a new card in the mail that offers improved features, including the transition to the UChoose Rewards program. We are committed to making this conversion as seamless as possible, and we have compiled all the key dates and details below to help you prepare for these exciting changes.
General Conversion Information
Why am I receiving a new credit card? Unity Catholic FCU is changing its credit card processor to better serve your needs. This change requires a new card to be issued to all members.
Will my interest rate change as part of this conversion? No, there will not be changes to APRs. But there will be changes to the grace periods and fee structures. Updated disclosures or cardholder agreements will be provided to you.
Will I have a new PIN number? Yes. You will no longer receive a PIN in the mail, and your old PIN will not work with the new card. You can select your unique PIN by calling the number on the activation label and choosing the PIN option.
Can I continue using my existing card until expiration? No. Your existing card will stop working after April 10, 2026. You must wait until April 13, 2026, to activate and use your new card.
Will my credit card number stay the same? No, existing card numbers will be replaced with new ones.
What is contactless EMV? EMV stands for Europay, Mastercard® and Visa®. EMV chip technology is becoming the global standard for credit card and debit card payments. This smart chip technology features credit cards with embedded chips that that will help increase security and reduce fraud. The new contactless feature allows you to “tap and go.”
Will all merchants be able to accept my EMV (chip) credit card? Yes. Your card will be accepted at all merchant locations.
My spouse and I both have cards; will they arrive together? Each cardholder will receive their new card automatically by mail. Cards are issued with unique numbers and may arrive separately for security.
How do I activate my new card? You must follow the instructions on the sticker attached to the new card to activate it.
Can I activate my card as soon as I get it? No, you must wait until April 13, 2026, to activate the new card.
Important Dates & Account History
When will I receive my new card? New cards will begin mailing on March 23, 2026.
Will my card number change? Yes, existing card numbers are being replaced.
Will my balance and history transfer? Outstanding balances, pending transactions, and accrued interest will transfer automatically.
Will my previous card history transfer to my new card number? You will not be able to access old statements or transaction history online after the transition. We strongly recommend you download or print your statements before April 10, 2026.
Payments & Billing
Will the due date for my credit card payment change? No. Billing cycles, statement dates, and minimum payment calculations will stay the same.
Will I need to send my payment to a new location? Yes. If you pay through online bill payment, you must update the mailing address to P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711 on or after April 13, 2026.
What do I need to do if I have preauthorized or recurring payments that are tied to my existing Unity Catholic credit card? To ensure there is no interruption in recurring or preauthorized payments (such as monthly telephone, electricity, gas bills, insurance, clubs), contact the merchant on or after April 13, 2026 with your new card number and expiration date.
Digital Wallets & Access
Will tokenization (Digital Wallets) be available? Online banking visibility, mobile app access, and digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) will be temporarily unavailable during the transition.
Will tokenization be available after the conversion? Tokenization may not be available immediately on the conversion live date (April 13, 2026). While we anticipate enabling tokenization as soon as possible, it may take up to 12 weeks after April 13, 2026 for this feature to become fully available. Once tokenization is live and your new credit card is activated, you’ll be able to add it to digital wallets such as Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, Garmin Pay™, and Samsung Pay™. Tokenization replaces your actual card number with a unique digital token, enhancing security for mobile and online transactions.
When can I re-add my card to my Digital Wallet? You will need to manually re-add your new card to your digital wallet starting June 8, 2026.
Do I need to activate the card first? Yes, you must activate your new card before adding it to a digital wallet.
Rewards Program
Do I need to register my card to earn points? No, you will start earning UChoose Rewards automatically starting April 13, 2026. However, you must register your card to view or redeem your points.
What happens to my existing rewards? You must use your current Score Card rewards by June 30, 2026, or they will be lost.
Where can I earn points? You earn points everywhere your card is accepted.
When can I redeem points? It can take up to 40 days for points to be credited to your account.
How can I redeem my rewards? You can redeem by visiting Scorecard Rewards.
