Education Loans

We are committed to helping parents provide the education that they want for their children. You can pay Kindergarten through grade12 with our tuition loan. We offer a low, fixed rate education loan that allows you to make payments over 12 months instead of the nine months traditionally available at your school.
Additionally, the James E. Flynn Memorial Scholarship could give you up to $1,000 more towards tuition.

Higher Education Loans
Stafford Loan
The Stafford Loan is available to students who are enrolled at least half-time in college and is obtained by completing the FAFSA application (Free Application for Student Aid) at
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The Stafford Loan is a federal loan that is available in two forms:
- Subsidized Stafford Loan are awarded to students based on their financial need. The government pays the interest on these loans for as long as students are enrolled at least half-time in college.
- Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are now need-based, so they are available to all eligible students, regardless of how much help they need. Students, not the government, are responsible for paying the interest on these loans.

EdAccess Private Student Loan
Increasing education costs coupled with decreasing scholarship and grant opportunities have forced families to turn to private student loans to cover the cost of higher education. Unity Catholic recognizes the challenges its members face when trying to pay for college, and we’re committed to offering our members access to affordable private student loan financing.
We have recently partnered with Fynanz, a private student loan underwriter, to announce the Unity Catholic EdAccess Private Student Loan Program - a student loan that can be utilized for any education-related expense such as tuition, room and board, books, supplies and other educational items.
The Unity Catholic EdAccess Private Student Loan features:
- No application fee
- Competitive interest rates
- Borrow as little as $2,500.00
- In-school deferred payment
- A 1% interest rate reduction once 10% of the loan is repaid.
Fynanz considers not only the traditional credit bureau report, but they also evaluate the student borrower’s academic attributes. The result is a process that recognizes and rewards the borrower’s academic achievement.
Prior to considering a private student loan, both Unity Catholic Federal Credit Union and Fynanz strongly encourage all student borrowers to first exhaust all scholarships, grants and federal loans.
